Pamela Hobbs: Digital Matte Painter

Pamela has a long and illustrious career as a Digital Matte Painter. She has worked at both major Visual Effects and Feature Animation studios including Digital Domain, DreamWorks, The Orphanage, Industrial Light & Magic and Jim Henson's Creature Shop. She has worked in London, Tokyo, and the Bay Area.

Pamela's list of film projects include Rock of Ages, The Legend of Tembo (pre-production), Megamind, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, Kung Fu Panda, Bee Movie, Next, Night at the Museum, Mission: Impossible III, Star Wars Episode III, Lemony Snickett's A Series of Unfortunate Events, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Day After Tomorrow and Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life.

A partial list of her television, broadcast and special venue credits include The Ball Unleashed and Heads-Up Display (special venue shorts for NYC Mets), Dragons: Gift of the Night Fury, Megamind: the Button of Doom and Merry Madagascar.

Pamela has served on the faculty of leading computer graphics departments at The School of Visual Arts, Parsons School of Design and The California College of Arts and Crafts.  She helped  to  pioneer several CG MFA and BFA programs while concurrently serving on the faculty and working professionally as a freelance illustrator, graphic designer and animator for a client list that includes Business Week, Time Magazine, Broadcast Arts, Ogilvy & Mather, Nickelodeon, MTV, CBS, Fox TV and Paramount Studios.
